Judging criteria
A panel of design experts will judge the projects based on their creativity, functionality, sustainability and aesthetic appeal. The of cial criterion for the jury includes: overall design of the project, innovative use of tile, tile design, degree that tile enhances the setting and the project’s sustainable attributes.


Short Description

Each year, the Ceramics of Italy Tile Competition awards top North American architects and designers for their outstanding work on imaginative projects that incorporate the innovative qualities of Italian ceramic and porcelain tile. Now in its 26th year, the Tile Competition is officially accepting entries for 2019. An international jury of design experts will review submissions from all over the continent and select winners in four categories – residential, commercial, institutional, and student.

Prizes

Winners will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Orlando, FL and the opportunity to present their projects in front of a large audience at Coverings 2019. The prize package for built project winners also includes $3,000 cash and a 5-day all-expenses-paid CEU-accredited trip to Bologna, Italy for Cersaie 2019.

Who can Participate

The competition is open to all North American architects,interior designers and students. Domestic and international new construction and renovation projects completed between January 2014 and January 2019 are eligible for entry in the residential, commercial and institutional categories. Students must be enrolled at an accredited university in North America to be eligible.
